INDIAN COAST GUARD DAY

Annually, February 1st is designated as Indian Coast Guard Day. Unlike the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard is an armed group of the country that defends marine resources and enforces regulations. Despite being the 4th biggest Coast Guard, the Indian Coast Guard has figured prominently in protecting Indian coastlines and implementing maritime laws inside Indian maritime zones.


WORLD HIJAB DAY

A hijab is a piece of cloth worn by certain Muslim women when they are in the company of a man other than their close relatives. Every year on the first of February, Muslim women from 140 nations worldwide observe World Hijab Day.

Muslim women often wear the Hijab, ahead, and breast veil when they are in the company of men who are not members of their immediate family. A headscarf, the headscarf known as the Hijab, is a wall or a curtain. As a result of their wide variety, hijabs make excellent fashion statements.

The Hijab is obligatory only when a woman is among males who are not close family members, although many Muslim women prefer wearing one anyhow in order to foster a sense of cultural unity. Some people choose to wear a hijab because they believe it is a religious obligation.


WORLD WETLANDS DAY

This day seeks to increase awareness and understanding of the important part of humans and the globe in wetlands. The first day of adoption of the Convention on Wetlands also commemorates the second day of February. In Ramsar, an Iranian town along the beaches of the Caspian sea, the Convention was approved in 1971.


RA AWARENESS DAY

RA Awareness Day is Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Day and is observed on 2 February to spread awareness for patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.


WORLD CANCER DAY

This year the theme is Close the care gap. In the year 2023, the Close the car gap campaign would focus on “Uniting our voices and taking action”.

The goal of World Cancer Day 2023 is to raise awareness, motivate action, and decrease cancer’s worldwide effect. Every year on the 4th of February, it has been commemorated. The goal of World Cancer Day is to dispel cancer myths and provide people with accurate information about the disease. It also provides an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients with cancer.

Cancer is the biggest cause of death across the world. Lung, heart, cervix, face & throat, and bowel cancer are the most common malignancies among Indians (CRC). As a result, it’s critical to comprehend each kind of cancer and how it affects the body. During World Cancer Day, everybody joins along with the goal of making the planet a happier and kinder place free of cancer.


GURU RAVIDAS JAYANTI

India will celebrate Guru Ravidas Jayanti 2023 on February 5, 2023. He was an poet, Indian mystic, spiritual guru and social reformer.

Guru Ravidas was an Indian mystic poet and saint as well as a well-known social reformer who worked to remove casteism. He was a believer of unity and believed that people should not be discriminated on the basis of caste, religion or gender. He was leaned towards spirituality from an early age and used to spend most of his time in spiritual pursuits at the banks of river Ganga at his birthplace near Varanasi. Although the exact date of birth of Guru Ravidas is not known, it is believed that he was born on Purnima in the month of Magh somewhere around 14th or 15th century. His birthday is known as Guru Ravidas Jayanti and is celebrated with high spirit and enthusiasm, especially in north India.


INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ZERO TOLERANCE TO FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION

February 6th is observed as the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation, and it’s observed every year on that day. On this day, we reflect on the fact that organized and systematic efforts are required to put an end to this atrocious practice. Everyone must get involved to concentrate on social justice and human rights. Female Genital Mutilation offers a window into profound gender inequality and the practice of female genital mutilation (FGM). To make people aware and stop this terrible practice, we all must work together.


INTERNATIONAL SAFER INTERNET DAY

The 20th edition of Safer Internet Day 2023 will be celebrated on February 7, 2023 across the globe. The theme of safer internet day in 2023 is yet to be decided.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated each year and this year it will be on February 8, the second day of the second week of the month of February, with the goal of providing safer and better internet for everyone. On this day, about 15 nations across the globe are holding festivities. It’s the 20th year for Safer Internet Day, and many activities will take place all around the world. Networking sites, online bullying, and internet privacy are just a few of the things Safer Internet Day seeks to highlight each year.


WORLD PULSES DAY

An official United Nations global event, World Pulses Day celebrates the importance of pulses (such as chickpeas, dry beans, and lentils) as a staple diet for the world’s population. The General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed it on February 10 of each year beginning 2019 on December 20, 2018.

Pulses can play a crucial role in realizing the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’s goals and ambitions, which aspires to improve global peace. The world’s rapidly expanding population might, in short, be fed with pulses more sustainably.

Due to their reduced carbon footprint, pulse crops are better for the environment than most other foods. There is less water usage since they can withstand the stress of being in semi-arid settings. There are several reasons why pulses have become an important part of farming in low-income rural areas: they are cheap, easy to store, nutritious, and they can help improve soil microbiota.


WORLD DAY OF THE SICK

World Day of the Sick 2023: Each year on February 11 World Day of the Sick is celebrated, and was established by Pope John Paul II, as a way for followers to pray fervently for all those struggling from illnesses. It is a real potential for all those who work in Christian ministry of health to perceive trying to think about someone who is ill and those who provide treatment to them. The commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes falls on this day.


NATIONAL PRODUCTIVITY DAY

Every year on February 12, India celebrates its National Productivity Day organized by the National Productivity Council (NPC). The idea behind this day is to stimulate and promote productivity and quality awareness in all sectors of the country. Proper planning of one’s time combined with their skills, intelligence, energy, resources, and opportunities can help achieve this mission and can also be said as a definition of being productive. In the world of NPC itself, the aim of the National Productivity Day is to “encourage implementation of productivity tools and techniques with contemporary relevant themes.” This day is celebrated every year with a theme and great enthusiasm.


DARWIN DAY

12 February is celebrated every year as Darwin Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of evolutionary biology, Charles Darwin in 1809. This day highlights Darwin's contribution to evolutionary and plant science. In 2015, Darwin's ‘Origin of Species has voted the most influential academic book in history.


ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S BIRTHDAY

12 February is celebrated as the birthday of the most popular president in United States history namely Abraham Lincoln. This day is also known as Abraham Lincoln's Birthday, Abraham Lincoln Day, or Lincoln Day.


WORLD RADIO DAY

February 13 is World Radio Day, a global celebration of radio’s role in shaping people’s lives across the world. World Radio Day was conceived in September 2010 by Spain. With the support of broadcasting organizations throughout the world, the UNESCO Member States overwhelmingly approved it in November 2011.

While driving for vacation or work, the radio is still there to keep us entertained and informed. It’s like a fantastic neighbor and friend who is always there and never disappoints you—except the radio will never steal your weed-wacker and forget to return it.


NATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

13th February is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the Nightingale of India Sarojini Naidu. She was born on 13 February 1879 in Hyderabad to scientist and philosopher Aghornath Chattopadhyaya and Barada Sundari Devi. She was the first Indian woman President of the Indian National Congress and also the first woman governor of an Indian state that is Governor of United Province which is now known as Uttar Pradesh.


INTERNATIONAL EPILEPSY DAY

Every year the second Monday of February is observed as International Epilepsy Day, and this year it is celebrated on 13 February. The day spreads awareness and educates people about the true facts of epilepsy and the urgent need for improved treatment, better care, and greater investment in research.


VALENTINE'S DAY

On February 14, couples of all ages will celebrate the much-anticipated Valentine’s Day, which has been recognized by partners of all ages. Although Valentine’s Day is today associated with presents, expensive date nights, and a general celebration of love, its roots are much less beautiful.

Sometime around the third century B.C., in Rome, a Catholic priest named Valentine resided. He is now honored as the patron saint of Valentine’s Day. The origin of this day and the narrative of its patron saint both are buried in obscurity, as are the remnants of both Christian and ancient Roman customs. There seem to be numerous legends surrounding Saint Valentine, and all these legends have developed into the tale that we currently know.


INTERNATIONAL CHILDHOOD CANCER DAY

Regardless of age or gender, cancer is always dangerous and life-threatening. It may put an individual’s whole life out of balance, whether it’s a young adult or an elderly person. Adolescents are also not exempted from cancer, which causes about 7 percent of all deaths in this age group. CCI designated February 15 as the International Children Cancer Awareness Day in order to increase awareness about childhood cancer (ICCD).


START OF TAJ MAHOTSAV

This day marks the birthday of Shivaji Bhosale (also known as Chhatrapati Shivaji).

The birth anniversary of the famous Maratha monarch Shivaji is celebrated on Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti. Every year, on the 19th of February, this holiday is observed. Greatness, gallantry, and compassion were all shown by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj throughout his life. Mahatma Jyotirao Phule established the celebration of Shiv Jayanti in Pune in 1870, and it has been held ever since. It marks the 392nd anniversary of the birth of the Maratha emperor. On Shivaji Jayanti, celebrations with immense pride and bravery, and lengthy parades are planned including other festivities to commemorate the occasion.


WORLD DAY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE

The goal of the World Day of Social Justice is to elevate awareness about social inequality and to introduce people from all walks of life together across the world to eradicate poverty, sexual identity and biological prejudice, lack of education, and religious bigotry in order to create a more socially inclusive community.

To promote awareness of social inequality and break down barriers based on gender, age, colour, region, religion, tradition, or disabilities. The celebration promotes international efforts to find sustainable solution growth, reducing poverty, complete decent work and economic growth, full social welfare, sexual equality, and universal availability of social well-being and equality for everyone.


INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY

The celebration of linguistic and cultural diversity and the encouragement of multilingual education takes place on February 21 each year. It acknowledges that languages and multilingualism are powerful tools for social inclusion and worldwide development, and the Sustainable Development Goals promote equity for all.

As knowledge grows, people are coming to understand that languages are critical for growth, ensuring cultural variety, and facilitating international conversation, but they are also important for cooperation and educational quality for everyone.


WORLD SCOUT DAY

This day marks the birth anniversary of Lieutenant General Baden-Powell who is known as the the founder of Scouting. The celebration take places in nearly all Scout associations across the world.

Scout Day 2023: Scouts’ Day is an unique day observed by members of the Scouting Movement throughout the year. In the life of Scouts and Guides members, each of these days holds a unique importance. In terms of World Scout Day 2023, it is a day on which Scouting representatives vow to keep the pledges made by the scouting movement.


CENTRAL EXCISE DAY

India will celebrate the Central Excise Day 2023 on Thursday, February 24. We celebrate Central Excise Day because Central Excise and Salt act was enacted on February 24, 1944.

Central Board of Excise and Custom (CBEC) commemorates Central Excise Day on February 24 every year, which is observed all across the nation by the Central Board of Excise and Customs. The Salt Act, which had been passed on February 24, 1944 is also commemorated. The Central Excise Day celebrations are organized by the CBEC, which is one of the country’s oldest government organizations. WORLD NGO'S DAY

Every year World NGO Day is celebrated on February 27th by people all over the world. It is an international day dedicated to recognizing, acknowledging and celebrating non-governmental and nonprofit organizations. The day also honors the people behind these organizations who contribute immensely to society all around the globe. NGO Day was adopted by the United Nations on February 27, 2014, and has been celebrated with great enthusiasm ever since.


NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY

The first National Science Day was celebrated on February 28, 1987. On this day, we remember invention of “Raman Effect” by Indian scientist C V Raman.

Our lives are in a culture where we may see two kinds of individuals. Any set of people who follow a religious journey and hold beliefs above science. From the other side, there are some who thrive on achieving new heights in scientific and technological.
